About the Evans Property Initiative

The Reimagine 85: Evans Property Initiative (EPI) was established by the City of Evans to aid in the identification, assessment, cleanup, and reuse of properties where the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of environmental contamination, like asbestos, lead-based paint, or petroleum.

The EPI’s mission is to incentivize the redevelopment of blighted, abandoned, and underutilized properties in the Highway-85 (US-85) Corridor and surrounding neighborhoods to create a center of commercial and employment activity. The City of Evans is actively pursuing transformative projects in the US-85 Corridor area that can be advanced by addressing the real or perceived environmental challenges from the area’s history of industrial-retail railroad and highway uses and to encourage redevelopment of existing properties together with property owners.
